[Gokudera sat right up, scrambling to the edge of the bed to look over and down at Makoto to make sure he wasn't too hurt.]

Makoto, are you okay?!

[Well, worrying about the other boy kept him from focusing too much on his own state. He needed a cigarette badly, or about ten ice cold showers.]

[Makoto sat up and looked up at Gokudera.]

I-I'm fine...

[He thought he could use a cold shower, too, but Haru was soaking in the tub again.]

U-uhm...

We should go downstairs before Watanuki-san gets upset.

A-ah...in a few moments.

[Now he could finally understand Gokudera's pain in willing himself to be calmed. No wonder he smoked, this was intense willpower.]

Right. Right. You're absolutely right. [Be calm. Be calm. Think of things that are not exciting. Think of calming things.

... Oh gosh Makoto was packing, now that they were separated he could see the tent in the other boy's pants and welp he was staring.]

...Fuck, I really need a cigarette.

[He shifted uncomfortably.]

No cigarette, though. If I can calm down, so can you.

Maybe after Haru's done soaking, we can splash cold water on our faces.

I didn't say I was going to smoke one, just that I wanted one! [The worst part about being high strung and irritable right now is that kissing to calm him down won't work at all right now. Though, he catches himself and cringes, grabbing a pillow to hide his face against it.]

I snapped at you, why wouldn't I be sorry? [On the bright side (if there's a bright side), the shame at losing his temper with Makoto no matter how briefly or trivially kills a lot of the problems he was having below the waist.

He's still hiding his face against the pillow, so the words are kinda muffled.]

[Makoto took a deep breath and released it. He stood up, he had calmed down most of the way. The fall had at least shaken him up enough to help him settle down and now the change of topic.]

No it's okay. It's no big deal.

[He pat Gokudera's head more like a kitten now.]

Let's go downstairs.

R-right. Good idea. [Gokudera took a deep breath and set the pillow aside, trying (and failing) to look grumpy at Makoto petting his hair. He was mostly calmed down as well by the time he stood, straightening out his clothes and running his hands through his hair a few times so he looked a little bit less like he'd just had some hot and heavy makeout session.]

... Next time, we do that at my place.
